IIT JEE to lENGINEERING

IIT-JEE to Engineering in India? what is this? preparation in Kota or any other dedicated preparation for that matter to life in deemed universities? The sad part of the story is infact the life of some students who unfortunately are not able to make it into IIT-JEE. IIT-JEE one of the most toughest and difficult exams to crack goes with out saying. ofcourse all of them can not get through the test. These students after preparing so hard for 2 years working out the most diffuclt problems unfortunaltely end up getting admissions in nationalised deemed universities which are popular enough not just in INDIA but through out the world just by the name of Infrastructure and so on. Actually the situation persiting in such universities is entirely different than these young intelligent minds would have thought. Truly speaking the standard of examinations in these universities is not even half of IIT-JEE preparation? Is it not an irony? Engineering is supposed to be the most difficult field of education and supposed to be the most disciplined one. But now a days the so called word ENGINEERING has become a matter of joke. A student who can afford to pay tens of lakhs can also get admission in such universities and an all india Merit Ranker in AIEEE also in the same university. so one can imagine how the lecture hours would be and so does the exams?? It is high time we all take some right steps towards a better INDIA.

The whole scenario is pathetic. The so called engineering is more of a business game of pasting with LABEL of engineer on students , without actually imparting any kind of education.Anyone who has deep pockets can get this attestation. There is no justice for the meritorious student . Education is also turning into a dirty game like politics .

Be it education or game, politics and professionalism is everywhere.... Still the so called IITs are still the ultrapure form of education in INDIA. IITs should have its aim to turn young talanted engineers to marvolous scientists. Again aim should be to turn more engineering colleges like IITs rather than changing the entire scenario of education which is directed towards professionlization of degree courses.

I fully support what Harish is saying. But i would like to add something to this.

I have spent some quality time now in IIT Delhi and after a keen observation what i feel is that its just a matter of Tag. Big companies come and recruit students from IIT just coz of the BIG name held by IIT's. I feel many students who are not from IIT's are at par to many IITians.
The only advantage which IITians have is that they get a better launch pad. Nothing more.

I beleive that all what matters is who you are and how much have you exploited the resources to your optimum advantage in your own college.

A very good example is a friend of mine who just entered into the Honeywell company as a Trainee but he did something that the work is going for a patent. The other BIGSHOTS in his team are amazed. He is not from IIT. He is from VIT.

It doesnt matter if you didn't qualify in the IITJEE.
If you have it in you, who knows U'll one day recruit many IITians.

Its a matter of Confidence and the right Attitude.

Haven't u seen the new ad of RBK?
Say it in this way:
"You are from IIT...so??"

Thanks abinav. your say is also right. why only IIT? These days oppurtunites are flourishing like any thing. Ofcourse finally it all depends on the student. well written man........ ->

hi everyone..
I totally agree with everyone.Getting admission in an engeeenring college should not be so decisive as is the case with IITs.Consider this ..
On an average 200 ,000 students give IITJEE.Even if you come in top 2.5% ie get an AIR of under 5 000 ,you dont get into IITs.Or dont get a branch of your choice.
Not getting into IIT does not mean you are inferior to any body in this world.
But the situation in our country is such that you are forced to think so.
If we leave that aside as well, how can we account for the DIFFERNCE in type of education imparted in IITs and Deemed Universities.
In the end i would say "it does not matter where you are but it does matter what you are "

I accept to what Harish says to some extent. But then one has to understand that IIT cannot take all the students in and hence one has to look for other oppurtunities. There is absolute no doubt the other institutions have to try to develop itself on par with IIT but then they are not IIT. WE have to understand that. We have to try and explore and extract all the things(available) to our fullest use and succeed. Thus one should not be dejected on not gettin in IIT but utilise and succeed with whatever available.

Frankly, if not IIT any other institution is same. If u r in IIT its different, any other than IIT is all the same
